Our Curé VBF is a school-wide program that entails behavioral expectations for our students and staff. VBF lists specific, positively stated characteristics or concepts that apply to all staff and students. These expectations are in line with the school’s theme “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” and is taught to the students and staff at the beginning of the year and also reviewed in the second semester.
Our teachers assure that students are taught what the expectations and behaviors will look like and sound like in the various settings throughout the school. Many students do not have the ability to generalize information from setting to setting. Thus, teaching students in a classroom how to behave in the cafeteria is not effective without standardized lesson plans designed to be delivered to all students in each grade level, in all applicable settings. It is unrealistic to think all students will know what is expected of them and be able to perform to the desired standard. Curé of Ars Catholic School teachers work with their teams to design lesson plans that are appropriate for the age of students that they teach. Lessons will be taught on the below topics:
CURÉ Kindness
Catholicity
Understanding
Responsibility
